A Strong Development Record in the
Turk & Caicos Islands

The Sands at Grace Bay

In 1996 Stan Hartling purchased an initial beachfront parcel of land on Grace Bay Beach in Providenciales, on which he planned to develop a 90-unit condominium resort. Stan Hartling acted as general contractor on The Sands at Grace Bay, using reputable construction firms and ensuring internal control over the project's timing and expenditures. The Sands opened in December 1998 and today it is one of the most successful resorts in the region with solid year-over-year revenue growth. One of two pioneering projects in the mid-1990s, many developers strive to emulate The Sands' model.

The Regent Palms, Turks & Caicos

Stan, in partnership with Coxco Construction, began development on The Palms Resort on Grace Bay, Providenciales, in 2002. The project, situated on a prime 12-acre site, exceeds $100,000,000 in today's dollars. The Palms comprises 72 oceanfront luxury two- and three-bedroom suites, complete with two restaurants, a ballroom, boutiques, lobby and reception, as well as a full-service spa. Coxco Construction, a local firm, has a renowned reputation for high quality construction of grand-scale projects.

The Shore Club, Long Bay Beach, Turks & Caicos

The Shore Club is Stan's third luxury project in Turks & Caicos due to break ground in 2010. A breathtaking new Caribbean condominium development, nestled in a private setting along 820 feet of prime oceanfront on the picturesque Long Bay Beach of Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands.

Architecturally designed in the traditional Barbadian-style, this project features 85 units within a village-like cluster of low-density buildings, all perfectly designed to offer unsurpassed views, tranquility, and the ultimate in privacy. The amenities include a guest reception, spa, retail boutique, ballroom, main restaurant, and interior and oceanfront pool and bar areas.

A Focus On The Community

Since moving to Providenciales full-time more than twelve years ago, Stan Hartling has nurtured relationships with local government and other entrepreneurs, and he is a committed supporter of his community.

Stan is an honorary member of the Turks and Caicos Aids Awareness Foundation (TCAAF), and was honored, along with Governor of the Turks & Caicos, for his continued generous support and contributions.

The Hartling Group provided financial support to the TCI Kidney Foundation, which helped them purchase equipment for a new dialysis clinic on Providenciales. The firm also donated a much-needed multi-passenger van to The Nissi House, a local orphanage, and is a key founding sponsor of the Provo Hockey League, now enjoyed by more than 100 children between the ages of six and 16.

In recognition of his untiring efforts and support for the local community, the Turks & Caicos Chamber of Commerce nominated Stan Hartling for Business Person of the Year in 2004 and 2005 and most recently Stan was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award at the 2009 Star Awards for his contribution to the Island.

Background

Stan Hartling graduated Honours Cum Laude from St. Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada) with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1986. He also earned his Chartered Accountant designation while articling with Deloitte & Touche, one of Canada's leading professional services firms.

In 1989, Stan Hartling became a partner in The Barrian Group, a Nova Scotian property development company. In his roles as partner and Director of Operations, he led the company through significant growth as it developed retail shopping malls, residential sub-divisions, large-scale storage facilities and multi-unit residential projects.

By 1995, The Barrian Group had liquidated most of its completed projects, which led Stan Hartling to explore development opportunities in international markets and led him to the Turks & Caicos Islands over 9 years ago.
